How parents can help their children
Parents are often emailing us and asking us "How can we help our children in......". We thought it would be valuable to provide a page with some of our suggestions.
We will add to this page as and when we get further requests. I hope this is useful.
The first page on each section is available to everyone - to view all these pages, please subscribe to Parents in Touch. Members, please click here to access all the worksheets. |

How I can help my child |
|
I have divided this section into two categories. One is aimed mostly at parents and explains 'How subjects are taught in schools today'. This section is split into Maths and English. These are further subdivided into topics such as Addition, subtraction etc. I have include here some examples of the detailed explanations so that parents are fully aware of the progression through a topic. Please check with your school to ascertain the methods they are using so you can use the same and hence avoid confusing a child. We have all encountered the cry:
"Mummy, that's not the way my teacher does it!"

The second category is to illustrate the level of teaching in subjects such as numeracy, reading and writing. This includes charts, worksheets and suggestions for children. To make this more accessible the work is divided into age groups of children
For older children there is a complete section on 11 to 18 year olds which includes GCSE, Key stage 3 and 'A' level options |
