Well done and good luck with your decision. I have five daughters and chose to take the three youngest out to homeschool three years ago. Haven't looked back since! Great fun and very rewarding.

You don't loose your child benefit, in fact you don't even need to tell them that you are home-schooling.

You will be elligible for child benefit the same as any other parent who has a state educated child. Even if you choose to educate your son after 16 years old all you have to do is write to the benefits office when you get your letter and state that you are homeschooling. you will continue to get benefit until your son is 18/19 depending on the type of education you are providing for him.
